Charge controller Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/200-Tr
SmartSolar MPPT RS solar charge controllers are Victron's solution for systems with large series-connected PV arrays charging 48V DC batteries. This product is ideal for large off-grid and grid-connected battery systems.
Available in 5.76kW and 11.52kW models, product features include 80-450VDC wide operating solar voltage input, independent tracking inputs, full connectivity, isolated photovoltaic connections, display screen, fully programmable charging parameters battery, as well as active cooling of the device. New metal housing design and fully enclosed electrical connections improve safety and streamline delivery to match the latest Victron product suite.
MPPT: Ultra-fast peak power tracking
Controller The SmartSolar RS solar charger connects to the PV array from 80 to 450 volts of open circuit voltage and efficiently charges your 48 volt battery up to 100A or up to 200A. Charge settings are fully programmable and can be customized for different battery chemistries such as lead acid -acid, lithium and others.
Setup and monitoring with VictronConnect
The SmartSolar RS charge controller can be remotely controlled and configured via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app. This application allows you to configure and control devices and instantly obtain information such as battery voltage and current, photovoltaic source voltage and current, historical data and trend data.
Serial connection of additional units
The SmartSolar RS Charge Controller is equipped with VE.Can transmit inputs, allowing communication with optional SmartSolar RS & VE.Can MPPT devices. Additional blocks are easy "chained" to each other using an RJ45 cable.
When connected to each other, all individual charge controllers synchronize their charging steps. They can also send their data over the same cable for monitoring to a GX device (such as a Cerbo GX).
Remote monitoring and control
If the GX device is connected to the Internet, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal will provide access to the full power of your SmartSolar RS charge controllers.
If the installation is connected to both the GX and the Internet, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal will provide access to the full power of your MPPT anytime, anywhere, free of charge.
For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby, you can still control the MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.
Smart Solar display
The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a front panel display. The display reads battery volts, charging current and voltage from both arrays separately, including instantaneous and cumulative indicators, as well as the status of the unit, including any possible error codes.
I/O Connections
The SmartSolar RS charge controller features a programmable relay and remote temperature and voltage sensing options. The remote input can accept Victron smallBMS and other types of BMS with charging enable signals.

1) MPPT operating voltage range is limited by battery voltage - photovoltaic voltage
open circuit should not exceed 8 x battery float voltage. For example, floating voltage
52.8 V results in a maximum open circuit photovoltaic voltage of 422.4 V. To obtain
For more information, please read the product manual.
2) Higher short circuit current may damage the controller if the photovoltaic array
connected in reverse polarity.
3) Max. 450 V open circuit results in approximately 360V maximum peak power, thus
maximum PV array provides approximately 360V x 20A = 7200 Watt peak
4) MPPT RS will check for sufficient resistive insulation between the positive photovoltaic voltage and
ground, and between negative photovoltaic voltage and ground. When
resistance below the threshold value, the device will stop charging, display an error and send a signal
errors to the GX device (if connected) for audio and email notification.
5) Programmable relay, which can be set to general alarm, low voltage alarm
DC or generator start/stop. DC Rating: 4 A to 35 V DC and 1 A
up to 70 V DC
6) MPPT RS is currently not compatible with VE.Smart Networks
7) Charger reference point (floating and absorption charges) can be set to
maximum value 60 V. Output voltage at terminals charger may be higher due to
temperature compensation, as well as compensation for voltage drop on battery cables. Maximum
output current is reduced by one notch from full current at 60 V to 5 A at 62 V. Equalization voltage
can be set to a maximum value of 62V, the percentage of equalization current can be set to
maximum value 6%.
