Charge controller Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 150/85-MC4 VE.Can (85A, 12/24/48V)
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger uses the latest and fastest technology to convert solar panel energy into energy that optimally charges your batteries.
The SmartSolar charge controller will charge even a very discharged battery. It can operate with battery voltages as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged.
MPPT: Ultra-fast peak power tracking
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar Charger connects to a 150 or 250 Volt PV grid and automatically detects and charges a 12, 24 or 48 V battery with current ranging from 70 to 100 A depending on the model.
Charging settings are fully programmable and can even be customized for different battery chemistries such as lead acid, lithium and others.
Control your charger remotely
The MPPT VE.Can SmartSolar charger can be remotely controlled and configured via Bluetooth via the VictronConnect app. It allows configuration, management and summary status information such as battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, and historical data.
Serial connection of additional units
The VE.Can SmartSolar charger is equipped with CAN bus ports. This circumstance allows you to connect other VE.Can SmartSolar devices. The additional devices are simply daisy chained together using a single RJ45 cable between the devices.
When connected to each other, all individual VE.Can SmartSolar chargers synchronize their charging steps. They can also send their data over a single cable to the GX monitoring device.
Remote monitoring and control
If the GX device is connected to the Internet, the Victron Remote Monitoring Portal (VRM) provides access to all capabilities of your solar charger.
For remote installations - even if there is no internet connection nearby, you can still control the MPPT by connecting the GlobalLink 520.
SmartSolar Control Display
The VE.Can SmartSolar charger also features a VE.Direct port like our other MPPT solar chargers. This port can be used to monitor a single device or control an entire system. The remote on/off connector can be controlled externally by a third-party device such as a lithium battery. An optional removable LCD display/unit provides up-to-date data transmission, configuration and control directly from the front panel of the device.

1a) When connecting PV power supply with higher power, the controller will limit the input power.
1b) The PV voltage must exceed Vbat + 5V for the controller to start working. Then the minimum PV voltage is Vbat + 1V.
2) PV with higher short circuit current may damage the controller.
3) MC4 models: several splitter pairs may be required to parallelize rows of solar panels.
Maximum current through MC4 connector: 30 A (MC4 connectors are connected in parallel to one MPPT tracker)
